Mphephethe Primary School

Exciting developments at Mphephethe Primary School in Kwazamokuhle, Hendrina, under the Steve Tshwete Local Municipality! The school is taking a crucial step towards safety and well-being by addressing the issue of asbestos in its classroom infrastructure.

Recognizing the harmful nature of asbestos, the Nkulo Trust has approved a significant project. This initiative focuses on replacing toxic materials with safer alternatives to ensure the health of both learners and educators. The project is comprehensive, involving the replacement of nineteen (19) classrooms and forty-eight (48) ablution facilities. Particularly noteworthy is the attention given to grade R learners, with age-appropriate ablution facilities being constructed for their specific needs.

Collaboration is key in this endeavor, with the Nkulo Trust working closely with the Mpumalanga Department of Education, the school leadership, and the governing body. Together, they are paving the way for a safer and healthier learning environment at Mphephethe Primary School.
